This was one person's favorite spot in our margarita tour.
We had great service. It was however dead in the middle of the day on a Monday at the bar so made sense. We were there for over an hour and the waitress gave us our space and yet checked in regularly from the kitchen which was great.
They offer both on the rocks and frozen varieties of a margaritas which was great for us. Good lime flavor, good proportions of booze and very fruity. The chips and salsa were interesting. The chips were sweet and extra crispy like wontons. The salsa was a chipotle deep red style. It went together well and we liked it.
I also ordered a taco al a-carte. They don't usually do that but it was quite that they could accommodate my request. I got a whole piece of fish (seriously a whole fillet) in a double shell taco (corn and blue corn). The salsa and blackened seasoning was good- not amazing but it was huge and helped me with my margarita. Thank you! -

The food is great and the happy hour is even better. $4 margaritas, and if you want them frozen, they have a machine that blends them perfectly. You can also get flavors for $1 more. If you buy a drink in the bar during happy hour you get free access to the nacho bar.
We always receive great service, especially from Kiersten. She is super friendly and amazingly attentive. -

Canyon Cafe is as good as it gets!!! Stayed in Downtown Phoenix and there are a lot of food choices, but picked this one because of high ratings, and so happy we did! The chips they start you off with are to-die-for! You could just eat them and be happy :) Comes with roasted salsa which is some of the best I've had. I normally don't drink, but couldn't resist one of their blended margaritas, which was delicious and so refreshing! (cranberry and pear flavors). Hubby looooved his mango margarita and had a second.
Waiter was attentive and friendly. Ordered one of the salads with chicken and enjoyed every bite. Also don't forget to get your free dessert (2 with two entrees!) on Yelp. We picked the chocolate flour less cake and all I can say is YUMMMMM! If I lived nearby, this restaurant would be my go-to for sure!! -

I'm so glad I stopped by. They have seating in- and outside. I certainly recommend sitting outside if the weather permits. Listening to the water fountain makes for the perfect ambiance!
The food was phenomenal. I was weary of the flavor but they ensured great flavor in everything, right down to the free chips! I certainly plan on coming back.
The service was great but a little slow. However, that is a small price to pay for great tasting food. -

The chips were unique and tasty. The salsa was ok, not memorable or needed. I ordered the blackened shrimp and mango salad for lunch. The shrimp were good, the mango was NOT ripe and still crunchy. The vinaigrette dressing seemed overly oily, but tasted better as I ate. I'd like to try this place again, but a $20 lunch with only water is probably not going to happen anytime soon.
